holiday...

...it's the best day,
it's an ice-cream day.
[yes, krys, laugh with me -- you know where it's from! *grin*]

hello all!

i'm online and searching for info on Mat Salleh.

all this while, i thought Mat Salleh was, well, British or American or something!
clearly, i was wrong. hahaha. it's quite a good thing that we were left with Mat Salleh for this Moral "project", because obviously i'm quite blur about Mat Salleh.

by the way, what does "tokoh" transalate to? i know who tokohs are, like our current and ex prime ministers and stuff.. but what is it in English?

eh heh heh.
*avoids the incredulous looks you people are giving me now*

night, ya'll!

S.O.S - Save One Show

yes, S.O.S. is a real campaign, where fans vote to "save their show" from being kicked of the air, to get their wanted t.v. series brand new season.
i'm voting for One Tree Hill, obviously. haha. it made it to the Top 5 for that campaign! woot! to vote, just send an e-mail to tvdiva@eonline.com with the subject as One Tree Hill. that's it! make sure that's all you write.

speaking of this campaign, i was just thinking.. i mean, i've been visiting this OTH fan website, and the webmasters are really making an effort to save the show. imagine; if OTH does make the cut, it's partially because of the webmasters' effort to get other fans from all over the world to vote for One Tree Hill. it's pretty cool, if you think about it. what if you were the one who was running this website, and you're watching the new episodes of Season 4 -- the season that happened because you voted for it! it's cool because you were one of the people who made it happen.

haha call me crazy for posting one whole entry on One Tree Hill and its fans -- i know, you probably think i have no life. but bah, i like One Tree Hill, so sue me.

Topshop is on sale! :D

when i think about the amount of clothes i want and get, or the handbags i want and get, i sometimes feel so weary of it all. like, what's the point of getting all of this things when it doesn't give you real happiness in life? and it doesn't take away your problems, just temporal satisfaction of getting that particular item.

retail therapy? yeah, it makes you feel better. but for how long?
at the end of the day, you come home, remove the brand new items from their bags and what do you get? a bunch of lifeless, pieces of cloth that can't remove the deeper feelings inside of you.

what's the point of it all?

my cousin told me once that what is important is the things that matter for eternity. something along those lines. it's true, it's really true.

it's not your good works that's gonna bring you to Heaven.

are you feeling empty?
God fills.

someone once wrote:

"And losing your way on a journey is unfortunate, but losing your reason for the journey is a fate more cruel."

the journey mentioned can mean many things. but it can also mean your life in general.
why are you here on Earth?
what's the point of living when life is full of struggles?
what's your reason for continuing on this journey of yours?
to be popular?
to gain glory and / or fame?
to finally get something you've been working hard for?

so many almost-reasons for us to live life.

but as for me, the reason i'm living is God.

that's what my reason to live should be.
our reason.

i'm certainly not perfect, and i definitely, definitely fail.
but let us make sure our hearts are in the right place--
with God. :)

Rejoice!

Today is Easter. :)

No, Easter is not about bunnies, or eggs, or even chocolates. it's about remembering and celebrating the resurrection of the Lord, Jesus Christ! :) Yes, He died for us - you and me. He died to pay the price of our sins so we can be reconciled to God.

And on the third day of the cruxifiction, Jesus resurrected!

God is REAL and ALIVE.
He reigns for ever

and
He loves YOU!

how great is that? :D

i woke up at 4:15am today! Chew picked me up with Ollie and Rachael in the car and off we went to the Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil for the Easter sunrise service!

we were participants [dancers and musician, etc.] and needed to be there at 5am and 5.30am respectively.

i don't think Ollie was involved in today's programme, but he came early anyway.

anyhoo! service ended at around 8am - 9am.. not too sure. breakfast was prepared for everyone after service! :D after eating and chatting, Laur and Kat followed me, my mom and my grandma home! Kat left after a while and Laur and I sat on the floor in my room and talked. we looked at photos. then talked somemore. then read the stuff in each other's phones. then talked again. hee. :)

oh! i also tried on the top of my form 2 cheerleading outfit! it fits perfectly! i like the design. it's quite pretty!
check out the black cheerleading outfit below. i like!

Sophia Bush as Brooke Davis and Bethany Joy Lenz as Haley James in One Tree Hill.

oh, i don't like the adults' drama in One Tree Hill.

haha okay that's pretty off topic buy okay!

anyway, after a simple but nice lunch, we went online! Lauranne showed me a pretty funny video. pointless, but cute! hahaha. it's just so Lauranne to find stuff like this. haha. and then we read people's blogs, and listened to songs. then her dad came to pick her up!

and here i am, blogging.
more like, ending the post! haha.

sleep is good.

i slept for 15 hours last night. slept through dinner time as well.

then i woke up. then i napped for an hour before lunch.

and i'm gonna nap again after this.

i love holidays. =)

i got a hair cut! :D i really like it. yay!

the haircut took an hour, plus wash. i love going to salons. i like being pampered. like, getting manicures (never had one, though) and getting made up by some professional. whee hee! :)

i also got a new pair of glasses made, since mine broke. it's metallic red and it has frames! i'm picking it up tomorrow.

it feels like i'm getting a whole new look! :D

new tan (or the after-effects of sunburns, however you wanna look at it), new glasses, new hair cut! hehe.

about sports day, it was really fun. i had loadsa fun. Lauranne, Jan and my mom came to support me! :D Joel and Salby came for a while, too.

it was just really fun. our routine felt like it ended so fast. we did well, though. in my opnion, it felt as if we really had team unity. team fun. for most of us, anyway. they're just a really sweet bunch of girls!

praise the Lord God almighty!

by God's grace the Hermine senior cheerleading team got 2nd place while the Assunta senior cheerleading team for 1st place! :D we were all really happy!

though we got 2nd place, it really feels like first.

and God answered most of my prayers! He is a fair and wonderful God! :) Amen.

G-O-L-D gold G-O-L-D gold!

haha not yet. no gold yet. we'll find out on soon, though!

this is my last post before sports day. because tomorrow's the sleepover and then it's the big day. heart thumping, voice sqeualing.

and as one of the One Tree Hill episodes are titled, the trick is to keep breathing.

Guest Blogger Blogging For A Blog!

Hello! Haha, this is Lauranne!

Before you pick up your phone to call Julia and frantically tell her about a hacked blog - no, there's no victim. :p I'm here 'cos I'm blogging on her behalf! So, be prepared for a very un-Julia post.

Anyway.

So the cheer captains of Assunta have somehow or the other come together to be involved in some sort of cheerleading drama, with all the main accusations being spitefully thrown into the faces of the Hermine squad..

Chanting cheers that are apparantly familiar?
Practicing cheerleading moves that are oh too similar to each other?
What kind of statements are these?

The condemnations the Hermine squad have to endure, that's what they are.

Alright now, enough temper inducing words. *rubs hands together* Let's do a little illustration to break the tension, shall we? ;)

A girl called Sandra has been making bracelets for a few years. Lots of people have bought them, and they think it's quite pretty! One day, she decides to re-use a pattern she created long ago for this bracelet,  since she has not used in a long time - and all of a sudden, a customer discovers this. She shouts and condemns Sandra for doing such a thing, goes around telling others about Sandra's "faults", and hence causing noone to buy Sandra's bracelets again.

Poor Sandra, huh?
What did she do wrong?
Re-using something that was already hers.
The recycling of an idea.
Is that wrong at all, so wrong to the extent she has to endure all that pain?
In short, is recycling a crime?

You decide.

Also, not to boil a cauldron a temper even more, but just raising some facts to a more logical level. How is it possible that someone who has already practiced something since day 1 be copying someone who has been doing that same thing since day 48?
And even so, the same action being done by two people does not mean imitation has occured - it can also mean two minds think alike, or use similar ideas.

There is no need to always go to the more spiteful side of things, try looking at them in a more positive light.

Think about it.

-- Lauranne.
